Training
Having the best strategies, processes and systems is all very well but it does not guarantee that your operation
will succeed. Your ideas need to be conveyed to your workforce in a way that inspires them as much as you, and at a level
and clarity that they can actually implement.
We highly favour training that is strong on education. People are more likely to implement the processes
if they understand why they have to perform the tasks and in the way prescribed.
We can develop training material for you. We can deliver training from our material or yours. Whatever you
require.
The Maintenance System Fully Computerised (CMMS)? Spreadsheet? Diary? Tee Cards? Depends what's
right for you. We do not prejudge the solution. We wait until we've viewed your business, its size, aspirations and
needs. If a new CMMS is appropriate we can help you set it up and configure it to best suit your business needs
and aims.
Asset Data We can survey
your site and/or your as-built drawings and set up your asset register in your maintenance system. We are experts in
the set up of asset structures in CMMSs. Good asset structures facilitate maintenance staff of all levels and disciplines
and provide them with the exact information they need in a way that is intuitive to their disparate needs.
Likewise, we can help you with creating your sites, locations, assets, inventory, tools, job plans, and pm records.
We can do this either from your own existing paper or electronic records, or, we can create the records from scratch
by surveying your site. We are also experienced in
data transfer. If you are changing from an old system to a newer one it is often beneficial to retain the information you
have already invested time and trouble creating. It is a true adage that knowledge is power - don't throw it away.
Stores
and Materials The best maintenance processes contain strong materials management
systems. Lack of control here can cause waste by overpurchasing, late purchasing, lost stock, duplicated stock and unofficial
stocks e.g. in vans and in toolboxes. We can advise you on setting up or improving your materials processes and stores operations.
In particular we have expertise in the linking of parts to your jobs and hence reducing stock, without risking the work, through
mrp (materials requirements planning) processes.
ISPE Maintenance Good Practice Guide This is the guide for maintenance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
It was published in summer 2009. You may be wondering how this guide affects your organization or site. We can help you with activities such
as: Benchmarking your operation against the new guide, Identifying gaps and opportunities or, Implementing changes to meet the
recommendations of the guide.
